I decide to take the risk, even though the official note says you’re only allowed to follow up if your passport hasn’t arrived after ten working days.

The flights are booked.

On July 8, I’ll fly to Dublin first, and ninety minutes later I’ll cross the Atlantic for the first time. It feels like time travel: leaving at 3:00 PM and arriving in Seattle at 5:00 PM on the very same day.

Nine hours younger — at least on paper 🤣
