Morning in Honningsvåg

8:49 AM

Slept well, but woke up because of the noisy rooms. French people making it very clear that they’re there, talking loudly. Breakfast was good and well taken care of, although I did feel a bit like I was in the movie The Langoliers.

Today is a Norwegian public holiday. I’m not entirely sure why. I think it’s because the midsummer period started yesterday.

Exploration tour around Honningsvåg. People are walking around in traditional clothing because of the celebration. I don’t really dare to photograph them, as they come across as rather shy. They look at you briefly and then immediately look away. Whatever I say—a hi, hello, laugh, or nod—they look away straight away. That’s quite different from Brabant, where you get tired of saying hi to everyone.
