Heading Home
6:23 AM
We’re allowed to wait, and wait. It’s been a while since that happened. I’m not checking in two hours in advance anymore. So now it’s another 45 minutes of waiting.
7:08 AM
And we’re back on the plane. Off to Tromsø – Oslo.

7:54 AM
Landed in Tromsø. It goes fast again. From the air you can see everything is still covered with a big white blanket. Hikers in Sweden say the weather is a bit confused as well—one moment it’s -7, then suddenly +25.

10:50 AM
And we’re in Oslo. Now to find the plane to Copenhagen and quickly grab some breakfast—I didn’t have enough time for that earlier. No snow? I could, of course, get off here and go look for the E1. The approach route is 234 km. That’s hitchhikeable!!!
Mmmm, maybe I’ll just go to Aimee and the kids—children/adults. When I pick up the route again, I’ll start from Alta.
And we’re boarding again, heading to Copenhagen.

1:33 PM
One more flight to go and then I’ll be back in Amsterdam.

Here I’m 325 km away from the E1 in Denmark. All quite doable. Maybe I shouldn’t make it a thru-hike, but a section hike? The beauty of a thru-hike is that the trail has to become your home. With a section hike, it’s more like a vacation.
And off we go—the last one to Amsterdam.

5:14 PM
We’re home again. Now it’s waiting… not for a plane this time, but for the thaw.
