Another Day Waiting
10:09 AM
Slept well last night. Woke up often, but that’s normal for me. Then comes the moment of standing up and yes… no. I decide to stay two extra nights. Because it’s low season, breakfast isn’t included with the room, so I have to go to a roadside restaurant. One sandwich and a cup of coffee cost 95 kroner. That’s €9. Pretty pricey.
As the day goes on, you start to notice how lonely it gets here. It’s drizzly weather and you’re basically just sitting around, killing time. I’m really dreading tomorrow already. Hopefully my foot will cooperate again by then, so I can head to the E1 and see how passable the trail is.
In the evening: nice, I’ll go out for dinner—maybe that’ll lift my spirits. Turns out the restaurant is closed!! So once again I opened a pack of Adventure Food and prepared it, but after the first bite everything went straight into the trash. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone!

A cyclist showed up, completely soaked, full of grand stories. He’d cycled no less than 110 km. Nordkapp was closed?? Too much snow on the road, according to the municipality. They’ve closed the road. Well, I guess that means I was lucky after all!
A bit later, two more cyclists arrived. They looked truly exhausted. They had covered 220 km coming from Finland. Let them come inside for a bit—though there was quite a strong smell of sweat around them, so I happily stayed in my room.
