An Acclimatization Day

Today is an acclimatization day. The time difference hits me harder than expected — I honestly thought it wouldn’t bother me this much. At 3:00 AM I was wide awake. You can try to sleep at that point, but who are you kidding?

It’s 33°C under a cloudless blue sky. In short: it’s hot 🥵. I need to resupply — food for six days that won’t weigh too much. So off to the REI store (basically the Dutch Bever) to pick up freeze-dried meals and a gas canister.

Do you really need to show ID to buy a lighter? 🤔 Seriously?

And yes, I passed an Apple Store with the Vision Pro on display. I had to touch it for a moment — this 3D headset still isn’t available in Europe.

I think I have everything more or less sorted now, so tomorrow we’ll head out again, a little closer to the Canadian border.
