About Gos

GosTravels is a personal archive of long-distance hiking, slow travel, and time spent outside.

Started in June 2012 by Gos, this site brings together trail journals, route notes, photos, and reflections from years of walking across Europe and beyond.

Completed routes include long-distance classics such as the Camino de Santiago (Frances & del Norte), the West Highland Way, E1 sections, GR trails, the Tour du Mont Blanc, and the Pacific Crest Trail. Each hike is documented as it was experienced: on foot, over time, and without rushing.

Long days on the trail come naturally, which makes slowing down a conscious choice. One way of doing that is by combining hiking with amateur radio: POTA and SOTA activations along the way, making Morse (CW) contacts from summits, parks, and quiet places off the trail. Stopping to set up an antenna creates natural pauses — moments to listen, connect, and stay present.

Future plans include the Appalachian Trail and Continental Divide Trail, as well as long-distance routes in Australia, Japan, sections of the Great Wall in China, and wherever long paths continue to invite attention rather than speed.

GosTravels is not about collecting miles or finishing lists.

It’s about distance, continuity, and choosing to slow down — even when moving on would be easy.
