A White Crossing
6:44 AM
Friday the 7th, morning. Pretty happy with the earplugs. What a noise once you take them out. Like the orchestra of Sail 2017 where all the ships blast their horns at once. Awake early, so I got up right away and made some coffee.

7:58 AM
Snowfields again. Today I have to cross a pass at 1,200 meters, so the snow will probably get a bit worse.

9:08 AM
Which pass will this be?

11:14 AM
Well, I can already see it. That looks festively white.

11:44 AM
Just a little more and then… wow, that is cold!!

2:20 PM
And then the descent begins. Dropping down to 900 meters. It was more like skiing than walking. The trail went straight down and I could just let myself slide without any problems.

3:51 PM
Endless!! For the first time, I was overtaken by a girl.

4:27 PM

5:53 PM
So far I’ve only had bridges. No more getting soaked. The Kungsleden isn’t a difficult trail.

6:37 PM
I’m tired! I come across an empty hut, but the atmosphere doesn’t appeal to me. After an hour of weighing my options, I decide to continue. It’s slow going. The trail is full of sharp stones sticking up. And after 40 km I can really feel all my muscles pulling and creaking. Just a few more kilometers and there will be huts again.

10:08 PM
Friday the 7th, end of day. After 45 km I finally arrive at the hut “Singistugorna.” Completely deserted. Everyone is already asleep. So I quietly found an empty bed, made it up with my hammock, and lay down.
